MOUSEKATEERS MOUSERY

Specialising in marked and shaded Fancy Mice

This is the place to view our little furry friends from yester year.  They are the mice we started with, who have taught us so much over the past few years, made us laugh and made us cry, and more importantly they have enriched our lives in so many ways.

You would not credit such a small animal with so many powers.

2009

Mousekateers Pipsqueak

One of only 3 sisters born to Dot and Fall Out Boy on 3 May, 2007, Pip was a Seal Point Siamese Fox. Even though she has a kinked tail and small white spot on her back her bloodlines are too valuable to let go. Identical to her sister in every other way.  We paired Pip with Odie and they were together for well over 12 months with no offspring born. Pip aged and eventually went blind in one eye but Odie protected her and cared for her until she passed away on 10 January, 2009.

Rocket Jasmine

Jasmine is an agouti/tan longcoat rex born on 3 July, 2007. The longcoat rexing shows off the gorgeous agouti colour highlighting the two tone coat.  Jasmine did quite well at shows and was bred to Austin, and produced a fabulous litter.  During the rearing of this litter we were told that Austin's family carries tumours, which mean't that none of their offspring should be bred from. Jasmine developed a tumour herself later in her life and was put to sleep on 12 January, 2009.

Mousekateers Jube

Brother to Jinx, Jube was sold with Jinx and Eddie and returned at 5 months of age.  He is a fawn brindle mismark.  This mouse has the most adorable face and is very cuddly and squishy.  He takes after his father in that his tail is kinked, so has only been shown in the pet classes where he has done very well and had many admirers.

He's always out to greet us first and is just the BEST pet.  He celebrated his 2nd birthday along with Jinx on 8 Jan, 2009 and passed away on 14 January, 2009.

Mousekateers Belle

Belle was a longcoat Snowtiger. A gorgeous mouse she is from our long awaited litter from Jet x Sicke, born on 22 May, 2007. She won 1st in her class at her very first show.  Belle passed away from old age on 16 January, 2009.

Mousekateers Patch

A broken marked black Brindle dilute. Patch is Belle's litter sister born on 22 May, 2007. She successfully survived a hysterectomy after her planned pregnancy to Bluey went wrong in March 2008.  Then in July, 2008 whilst we were away on holiday, the girls managed to flood their tub and Patch ended up with head tilt.  She survived all this and passed away peacefully on 21 January, 2009, aged 20 months.

Mousekateers Abbee

Abbee was the daughter of our beloved Arrow and Rocket Bungie, she was the only mouse kept from that litter.  Born on 16 September, 2007, she was very similar to her mother but is a cream brindle standard.  She had been shown with some success placing in her class but she has not been bred from because of time constraints and the fact that Abbee had a skin irritation that is contagious.  She displayed the irritation for quite a while and whilst our Vet thinks it was mites, he has been unable to identify the problem conclusively.

Abbee eventually got over her irritation and passed away from old age on 4 February, 2009.

Dog Star Austin Powers

A chocolate point Himalayn longcoat rex, Austin was born on 30 July, 2007. A very sweet mouse, his breeder focuses on temperaments and health and Austin has been everything you could ask for in a pet.

Austin sired one litter for us and it was during this period we found out that his sire, a gorgeous double rex longcoat Siamese of undeterminable history carried tumours, after Austin's breeder lost two of his sisters.  Austin's progeny have grown into stunning mice and have gone to homes with the understanding that none should be bred from.

Austin passed away from old age on 11 February, 2009.  He'd had his ups and downs recovering from an eye infection where he rubbed his snout raw.  Two months before he passed we noticed a little lump on his tummy, about the size of a pea, at the time of his passing it had not grown.

Fuzzy was a pink eyed white longcoat double rex manx.  We spotted her in a petshop as a young, tiny thing in November, 2007.  Initially we thought she was female but it took us a few weeks to confirm the fact as manx can be notoriously hard to sex.  She lost all her coat and then grew her adult coat enough for us to show her at Sydney Royal, 2008 where she won best "Longcoat Rex Manx" mouse in Show.  Unfortunately, Fuzzy hasn't developed as we had hoped.  She has been constantly sneezing for most of her life, the double rexing means that she is almost bald and she is still very tiny.  We believe she is very inbred with a weak immune system and therefore we have no thoughts of breeding from her, she will stay as a pampered pet.

Fuzzy passed away on 2 March, 2009 aged approximately 16 months.  She had her two mousey friends cuddled up with her at the time.  She was blind and had developed a tumour behind her eye.

Rocket Gem was born on 27 September, 2007 and was the daughter of our Mousekateers Captain and granddaughter of our beloved Jet.  She was a lovely little fawn rex mouse with a very gentle personality, a pretty face, big ears and huge eyes.  We mated Gem to our stunning chocolate brindle boy Mousekateers Ace but 2 weeks after her due date when no babies appeared we decided to breed her to Mousekateers Wonka.  About 10 days later during a cage clean we noticed there were some extra heads in their house.  It seems that Gem had indeed been pregnant to Ace and had given birth to a lovely litter.  As Wonka was still with her we assumed she would be having a second litter and she did,4 weeks later.  Wonka had been moved out by this stage and was caring for her older sons whilst Gem and her older daughters reared the second litter.

A couple of weeks before Gem turned 18 months we noticed that she was aging very quickly.  She lost weight and became quite frail before passing away on 27 March, 2009.

Three litter sisters were born to Nibble Nut Milly and Rocket Magoo (blue tan longcoat rex manx) on 31 October, 2007.  We were only keeping Buffy, with Indah and Rahni going to a fancier in Queensland.  This sale fell through so we ended up keeping all three (along with their two brothers), and fortunately for us it has turned out to be one of the best litters we've bred.  All three sisters were very outgoing and confident mice, they were not overly bossy and generally got on with all the others in their colony.

Mousekateers Buffy was a colourpoint beige headspotted longcoat rex.  She had a very friendly and outgoing temperament and loved to be on your hand.  We decided to breed her to our old boy Jinx, a gorgeous burmese fox.  Buffy gave birth to a litter of 6 but only 3 survived.  Imagine our surprise as they coloured up to be a blue burmese, blue marked and Siamese (with a kinked tail).  Although she was not the best mother to begin with, we decided to repeat the mating and ended up with 7 females, mostly chocolate/burmese foxes, with a very dark (almost havana) self, a marked Siamese and a lovely blue Himalayan. Some of these girls had kinked tails too which undoubtedly came down from their grandfathers - one of whom was a manx and the other had a kinked tail himself.

After rearing her second litter, Buffy developed a lump in her groin area.  We were devastated thinking she had a tumour but about a week later the lump had disappeared.  She had chewed it and left a hole about 0.5mm.  Fearing she had self mutilated we took her to the Vet.  The wound was very clean and was healing, the Vet concluded she had mastitis and within a few days the wound with the help of some antibiotics was completely healed.

In January, 2009, Buffy developed a head tilt.  We treated her with Baytril and she improved, however a few weeks later we noticed a lump appear under her ear.  This was a tumour and she was euthanaised on 31 March, 2009.

Mousekateers Indah was a black tan longcoat, because she and her sister holidayed with us in Queensland, we decided to name the pair after some tiger cubs at Dreamworld.  She was leased to another Mousery during 2008 where she produced a beautiful litter of black tans, black selfs, Siamese and Himalayans to Grand Champion Zen Loki.  In return we were given her Himalayan daughter, Zen Sherpani.  Like her sister, Buffy, Indah was not a very good mother but with perserverence from the breeder she managed to get her act together and reared a lovely litter.  Indah has also done well at shows, placing in her class.

In February, 2009 we noticed that Indah had developed a mammary tumour.  She developed a second tumour and was sadly put to sleep with her sister Buffy at 18 months of age on 31 March, 2009.

Mousekateers Bandit was just as lovely as his brother Smokey.  Born on 27 September, 2008 to Mousekateers Buffy and Mousekateers Jinx.  He was a blue marked rex and carried the best features of both his parents.

Unfortunately whilst in the nest we discovered that their nanny had a skin irritation which she managed to pass onto Bandit.  He ended up scratching out most of his coat and causing a serious skin infection which no amount of medication could soothe.  He was euthanaised at the age of nearly 9 months on 31 March, 2009.

Grand Ch Rocket Manxine was a gorgeous little Siamese manx.  She was born on 3 September, 2007 amd her breeder had her in a tub of girls to go the the petshop when we spotted her.  Being Siamese and a manx, she was irristable.  Manxine was always on the go, always on her wheel, she had a very charming little personality.  At her first show she was awarded Grand Champion, which was a first for us and so thrilling.

In the middle of 2008 we were thinking of breeding her when a judge at a show noticed that she had a lump under her neck.  We were devastated thinking it was a tumour and didn't breed from her, the lump was about the size of a 5 cent piece and stabilised, so we think it was a benign cyst.

Manxine passed away in her bed with all her friends at 19 months of age from old age, on 8 April, 2009.

Mousekateers Jinx was from our first homebred litter back on 8 Jan, 2007.  He was one of three brothers sold to a petshop who in turn sold them to one family.  He was a gorgeous burmese fox and we sadly parted with him knowing we couldn't keep the whole litter.  Five months later the three boys were returned to us because they were fighting.  We separated them and they haven't looked back since.

Jinx won many placings at shows and it wasn't until recently that we used him at stud.  In his first litter he produced blues which were a surprise to us as we don't have a lot of information regarding his pedigree.  In a repeat mating to Buffy he produced burmese, havana, siamese and a blue himalayan.

He was a wiry, tough little old man.  He had just celebrated his 2nd birthday and was always on the go.

Jinx was a gorgeous little old man and was forever trying to escape. He finally did escape and we found him collapsed on our pavers with a head injury, probably after falling from the bench. It was not the end we envisaged and we miss him dearly.  He was 2 years and 3 months when he passed on 13 April, 2009

Nibble Nut Felix was 2 years and 1 month When we found him passed away beside his house on 13 April 2009, this was a big shock to us as he'd always been so healthy and strong.

We were looking for a black self with a pointed background to compliment our Siamese breeding program when 's breeder advertised this litter.  She was disappointed with a litter of all black self and black tans, we were delighted.

He was born on 13 March, 2007.  Felix was our first longcoat rex.  We thought he was a double rex from the way he periodically lost his coat and then regrew it.  As he's matured he is in a constant state of semi-nakedness, but it certainly shows off his huge ears and big eyes to advantage.

In May, 2008 Felix had his first mating.  We were so disappointed when the doe absorbed the litter at full term.  On New Years Eve, 2008, Felix fathered his first litter, all rexes proving that he was indeed a double rex.  Although Felix did have a marked tail, this litter of 8 (5 black self, 2 cpb, 1 coffee) were all perfectly marked and as they mature we look forward to some stunning progeny.

Mousekateers Leonardo was a mismarked longcoat snowtiger.  He had beautiful conformation and placed third in that class at his very first show.  Leo lived with his brother, Stryker and was a very quiet mouse being bred from Wonka and the very gentle Roc Gem.  Although Leo did not show any signs of illness and was not an excessive drinker he did begin to lose condition and look old at a young age.  He eventually passed the same way as his older half brother Indiana, on 23 April, 2009 at 9 months of age.

Mousekateers Mintslice was a cream sable standard, named after our original silver sable girl - Mintie.  They had a lot in common, including obesity, being sable and similar conformation and temperament.  She was shy like her sister, Olive.  We believe this is due to the fact that the litter was not handled for the first two weeks of their lives.  Because of her obesity, Mintie was not to be bred from and because of the low fertility rate of her mum and siblings we thought it would be safe for her to live with her brothers - which she did for many months, keeping Leo company whilst Stryker was off parenting his new litter.  Unfortunately when Stryker and his son, Sam were introduced back in with Leo and Mintie, we think that Sam bred with Mintie.  We didn't realise she was pregnant (being so obese) until she was due to deliver them.  Unfortunately the stress was too much for her and she passed away on 26 April, 2009 at 10 months of age.

Mousekateers Rahni was a black tan longcoat rex, and the third sister from this litter, like her sisters she is quite a robust, good sized mouse.  Almost identical to Indah, Rahni too was named after the Dreamworld tiger cubs.  She has also done well at shows but we have not had the time to breed from her.  Rahni was put to sleep a few weeks after her sisters on 6 May, 2009.  She developed tumours late in life.

Mousekateers Happy Hugh was born on 14 June, 2007 to our gorgeous brindle boy Jet and our cream brindle girl, Sicke.

He is a mock chocolate marked standard and was from their second litter, bred when Jet was left in with Sicke to nanny the first litter.

Hugh was the last male left from this litter and was so pretty we didn't mind keeping him.  He has been shown sparingly but didn't cope well with the showscene and was retired.  He passed away suddenly at 23 months of age on 19 May, 2009.

Mousekateers Lily was our little mystery bag.  One little chocolate baby in a litter of Siamese and blacks.  She stayed with us, but has not been bred from and her showing was limited due to the fact that she has some white ticking which marks her down.  Like her sister Mini, Lily too was very bossy and she liked to throw her weight around.  She aged very suddenly over a week and passed away with her friends around her on 26 May, 2009, aged 20 months.

Sunstate Lotus was a blue tan longcoat rex stumpy manx, born on 3 October, 2008.  She is another daughter of Rocket Ripper and her mum is another Rocket mouse shipped by us to Queensland with Ripper.  Knowing how much we wanted a mouse of this variety we feel very lucky to have her.  Lottie won 2nd place behind Willow at her first show.

We paired Lottie with Devil in the hopes of more blue tan longcoat rex manx but a few days later found her passed away in the corner of her tub.  We're devastated and don't know what happened, she had no marks on her or any form of trauma.  She was 7 months old when she passed on 28 May, 2009.

Following this incident we found a wild rex mouse consorting with Devil and can only speculate that she may have returned to Devil and found Lottie, subsequently killing her.

Sunstate Jellybean was a chocolate brindle standard manx.  She was born on 15 June, 2008.  As she's matured her colour has faded.  She was a favourite of her breeder's but was offered to us after a mix up with some other mice.  Jellybean is the squishiest mouse, with a lovely docile, soft temperament, we understand why she is a favourite, and she's definitely a favourite of ours.

Jellybean moved in with Toby after a couple of the girls picked on her.  She didn't conceive but continued living with Toby.  She started to lose condition and eventually passed away on 10 June, 2009.

Zen Odin was the most active and nuttiest mouse we own.  He was a gorgeous colourpoint beige longcoat with stunning conformation and a pedigree to die for, born on 26 December, 2006.

He comes from a litter that includes two multiple Grand Champions, and we're sure if it hadn't been for a tail injury inflicted by another mouse, Odie would have joined them.  He produced one very successful litter for us, two Siamese of which have gone on to become Champions themselves.

Unfortunately he became infertile but lived happily in our girls colony keeping everyone in order.

Odie passed away from old age amongst his girlfriends at the age of 2 1/2 years on 11 June, 2009.

Mousekateers Wonka was born on 22 May, 2007 to our gorgeous brindle boy Jet and our cream brindle girl, Sicke.  He is a mock chocolate longcoat fox and was from their first litter.

A lovely mouse with a great temperament and nice conformation, he has done very well at shows winning "Best Longcoat" and regularly placing. As testament to his quality, Wonka has been used at stud by another mousery as well as producing a gorgeous litter for us.  His daughter Mkt Maya, owned by another mousery was judged Grand Champion at her first show and his sons, Mkt Leonardo and Mkt Stryker were also placed in their respective classes at the same show.

After a long battle with a skin infection Wonka passed away from old age on 11 June, 2009, just one month after his 2nd birthday.

Mousekateers Smokey was a beautiful blue Burmese rex with a belly spot.  Born on 27 September 2008 he is out of Buffy's first litter and has a lovely plush rex coat and very gentle nature inherited from our boy, Jinx.

He was shown initially but after a squabble with his brother Bandit, he lost the tip of his tail and we had to separate them.

This litter was a real surprise as we did not expect blue to pop up. Of the three surviving mice in this litter the two boys are blue while their litter sister Rosie is one of the best shaded Siamese we've bred.

Smokey passed away suddenly on 15 June, 2009.  We suspect has immune system may have been weakened and he passed away on a cold night, he was only 9 months old.

Apple Eyes Tinkerbelle was born on 30 June, 2008, to Silkie's sister, Smudge and a chocolate banded dad.  Tinks was a himalayan standard.  Granddaughter to our beloved Allegresse we hope to keep her line going.

She was an attractive little mouse with a  lovely sensible nature, Tinks got on with everyone.

Tinkerbelle passed away on 26 June, 2009, four days short of her first birthday.  She did have a slight sniffle for which she was being treated but was otherwise in perfect health.  She is the 3rd generation to have passed at a relatively young age  (12 - 14 months) and we will be keeping an eye on her daughters.

Both Mini and Lily came from a beautiful litter sired by our colourpoint beige boy Zen Oden, from Pied Pipers Ebony (a black self).  It has been a very successful litter producing stunning Siamese and black selfs born on 4 August, 2007.

Champion Mousekateers Mini was a lovely sealpoint Siamese.  A big mouse, which is why we named her Mini, she was also very bossy and the dominant female in her colony.  She has been awarded the title of Champion at one of our shows and has always placed well.  When we did attempt to breed from Mini, she went to full term and although we could see the kittens moving, she produced nothing.  A vet visit ensued and it was decided to monitor her and administer Baytril to fight off infection.  She was very sick for over a week but being a very robust mouse she pulled through.  The downside was that her weight has increased and she is now very obese.

In May, 2009 Mini developed a small mammary tumour near her armpit.  She rapidly lost condition due to the tumour pressing on her organs and was sadly put to sleep on 26 June, 2009, one month short of her 2nd birthday.  She was a favourite girl.

Res Champion Rocket Bubbles was a champagne tan longcoat rex, so what other name could we call her but Bubbles?  Her parents were a lilac tan and a chocolate self and she was born on 19 November, 2007.  Bubbles was a very pretty mouse with lovely lines, so we weren't surprised when she won Reserve Champion at one of our shows.

We bought Bubbles on the understanding that she would never be bred from due to tumours popping up unexpectedly in her ancestors.  This can happen from time to time but it won't stop us enjoying her as the lovely pet she is.

Bubbles did eventually develop at tumour and was sadly put to sleep on 26 June, 2009.

Olive and Mintslice were from Gem's surprise litter to Mousekateers Ace.  We didn't think that Gem had conceived and so nearly two weeks after her due date we introduced her to our Mousekateers Wonka.  It was a great surprise to see several little furred heads peering out from their house two weeks later.  We estimate that they were born on 15 June, 2008.

Snap came from the same petshop as Jack and Uno but about a fortnight later. His estimated date of birth is 18 July, 2009 and he is roughly the same age as Jack and Uno.  We'd seen him there and this little dove self caught our eye.  He has a nicked ear but we have a number of breeding possibilities including breeding dove brindles - very pretty.

Being a petshop mouse he is fairly reserved but once you gain his confidence he is quite happy to walk onto your hand and explore.

Early in 2009 Snap developed a skin infection.  He fought it for many months but winter took it's toll and he sadly passed away at the beginning of July, 2009.  Two weeks short of his first birthday.

Mousekateers Olive was a snowtiger longcoat.  She was a shy but calm and sensible girl with lovely big eyes and ears and nice conformation.

Olive produced one litter to her half brother Mkt Stryker.  Three kittens were born, Mkt Sox, Mkt Sasha and Mkt Sam, two selfs (mismarked) and one banded with two being mock chocolates and one havana.

Olive developed a small tumour behind her elbow but passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on 3 July at 13 months of age.

Mali was offered to us by another breeder who purchased her from a petshop.  She was born approximately 31 July, 2008.  She is a very good example of a snowtiger with a rex coat.  Mali had a lovely temperament and settled in well with our girls colony.

Mali lived with our sable longcoat manx boy, Aeon, and although we were disappointed that they didn't breed, Mali was great company for him.  She consistently won her show classes and featured on Better Homes & Gardens TV show when they ran a segment on "mice".

She passed away in her bed on 5 July, 2009.  Her health was excellent with no signs of illness.

Mousekateers Rosey was a stunning siamese fox rex born from Buffy and Jinx first litter on 6 July, 2008.  In a litter of 6, she was one of only 3 who survived.  Buffy took a while to get her mothering skills into gear and eventually reared her litter.  She has the most outstanding colour and conformation but unfortunately can't be shown because she has a kinked tail.  Rosey had two blue brothers, Smokey and Bandit.

Rosy was bred to a blue siamese but failed to birth the litter.  Unfortunately she didn't re-absorb the litter and a tumour metastasized.  She passed away on 24 July, 2009.

Res Champion Mousekateers Stryker was a very pretty snowtiger marked longcoat rex.  Just as gentle as his brother Leo.

These boys have a brindle background and carry three lines in their pedigree back to our beloved Jet.   They both have lovely features which we hope they will pass on to their offspring.  Stryker has produced one small litter of 3, surprisingly two were selfs and one was a banded doe.

At our June 2009 AusRFS Show, Stryker was awarded Reserve Champion Mouse.

On the 30 July, 2009, Stryker somehow managed to escape from his tub and was unfortunately found by our cat, although unmarked, he did not survive the experience.

We had been on the lookout for a nice black brindle mouse.  When we saw Jack, we had to have him even though he did have a tiny bellyspot.  He was an amenable little mouse with a nice body shape and large ears, although his eyes could be larger.  Brought home from the same petshop as Uno, we estimate that Jack was born in mid July, 2008.  He had a nice little personality and was always at the front of his cage waiting to say hello.

Jack was from the same group of mice that developed a skin irritation that we could not cure, no matter how many products and ideas we tried.  Unfortunately he passed away on 27 July, 2009, just a couple of weeks past his first birthday.

Uno was a pretty little standard black and white marked mouse, bought from a local petshop simply because he was pretty.  We had no intentions of breeding from him but hoped he would live in harmony with Jack.   This has not happened, and as they matured and started to fight they were separated for their own health.

Uno also developed a skin irritation that became incurable.  He passed away on 10 August, 2009 just a couple of weeks after his first birthday.

Dog Star Lancelot came to us after his breeder moved to New Zealand earlier in the year.  Lance was born on 11 May, 2008, a standard pink eyed white male mouse.  He was very pretty and the son of our Mousekateers Wonka.  Lance had started to develop a skin condition before he came to us.  We kept it in check for many months without actually curing it.  Unfortunately Lance aggrevated the condition to the extent that none of our treatments worked and he passed away on 21 August, 2009 at 15 months of age.

Bella was a blue self longcoat rex manx with a small bellyspot.  She was given to us because she didn't get along with the other mice in another breeders colony.  Consequently she has fitted in with our girls colony without a problem.   We don't have a lot of information on her except that she comes from a long line of blue manx.  She was born approximately 22 February, 2009.

We hadn't planned to breed from Bella and in August, 2009 we noticed that she was starting to look very old, this is typical of mice that have been inbred.  Bella passed away on 21 September, 2009, she was with all her friends.

Mousekateers Silkie was the only longcoat from a litter of 11 Siamese born to our triple Reserve Champion Mousekateers Allegresse and our gorgeous boy Reserve Champion Mousekateers Merlin on 27 October, 2007.

Silkie was a stunning mouse with a lovely quiet temperament.  She has always done well at shows placing in most of her classes but has not reached the heights of her parents.

We tried to breed her to Odie and Devil but with no success and because she was getting older, time ran out and we didn't perservere.

She passed away from old age at 2 years of age on 16 October, 2009 surrounded by all her friends.

Cookie was a 2 year old petshop Agouti Rex headspotted mouse who came to live with us along with Simon when his owner moved in July 2009.  He was a quirky mouse, very confident and friendly and had the largest eyes.  Cookie passed away from old age on Wednesday, 4 November.

The Rodent Ranch Aeon (pronounced E-on) was born on 10 August, 2008.  We were at a Club show talking to a new member who had a litter of 4 manx, he mentioned that the two boys were for sale.  Aeon's sisters who were a standard brindle (she was awarded Champion mouse at that particular show) and a standard agouti were stunning.  Aeon, who was the pick of the two boys was a cream sable longcoat manx with lovely conformation.  His brother was a blue agouti longcoat stumpy manx.

Aeon was a lovely gentle mouse and had been used at stud by another breeder and has produced a variety of colours including fawn sable, black eyed white and fawn brindle, some of these were manx.

Over a short period of time we noticed that Aeon was aging fast and he passed away at 15 months of age on 7 November.

Champion Mousekateers Devil was a beautiful black self longcoat rex who carried blue and manx.  He was born on halloween, 31 October, 2007 and was awarded "Champion Mouse in Show" at Sydney Royal 2008.  Devil was a very influential sire stamping his quality onto his progeny, and to date he has produced four litters, two for another mousery and two homebred litters.  The youngest litter, all bucks were only six weeks old at the time of his passing.

Devil lived with his brother, Monte and they have lived together harmoniously all their lives.  Even after extended periods of absence for stud duties they still accepted each other without even a squeak

These boys were to be sold to Queensland but after journeying all the way up there the person changed their mind so we had a bit of a holiday and came home.  Their loss and our gain - it was meant to be.

Devil passed away suddenly one week after his second birthday on 8 November, 2009.

Mousekateers Tigerlily is from Gem's second litter, sired by Wonka.  This litter was born on 12 July, 2008.  She was a very attractive fawn brindle marked longcoat and like her brothers, Stryker and Leo has gorgeous conformation with huge ears and eyes.  Olive and Mintie helped their mum, Gem, rear this second litter.

Tigerlily, the last of her family, passed away from old age at 17 months on 1 December, 2009.  She had been living with Maxi helping to rear her son, Nigel.  Tigerlily had a beautiful nature which she passed on through her nannying skills to the youngsters she helped to rear.

2008

Mousekateers Dart

Our beautiful silver brindle boy, Dart was from our first litter born on 8 January, 2007.  Thought he'd be a snowtiger like his dad but he sabled over the brindling at 5 weeks of age.  Nonetheless a pet with a superb temperament and classic conformation.  We lost Dart the day before his 1st birthday on 7 January, 2008.  He succumbed to diabetes, similar to his brother, Eddie.

Nibble Nut Milly

Milly was a black tan longcoat She was born on 13 March, 2007, litter sister to Felix . A little shy, never the less inquisitive and once on your hand was quite relaxed. Milly developed a tumour one month after weaning her litter and sadly was put to sleep on 31 January, 2008. Her litter brother Felix remains healthy and we will watch over him carefully.

Mousekateers Mintie

Our gorgeous silver sable girl from our first litter born on 8 January, 2007, Mintie was a beautiful mouse. We weren't able to breed from her because she carried the obesity gene but Mintie was a class winner and place getter at Sydney's Royal Easter Show. She was always head down, bum up in the food bowl and we loved her dearly.  She passed away on 15 February, 2008.

Oreo

Our very first mouse. A black banded standard girl fuelled our interest. A beautiful mouse, she was feisty and lived with her friend, Spice. She passed away from old age.

The Wright Rodent Bluey

Bluey was an irresistable blue banded manx boy. He was an impulse buy when accquiring our first snowtigers. Not the friendliest mouse, a little bit nippy. He passed away from old age after siring his first litter.

Rodent Haven Candy

Our stunning fawn brindle blazed girl. Candy was the foundation of our mousery, producing our first litter. An excellent mother and roll model for all our girls. The last of our Rodent Haven girls.

Mousekateers Jaffa

This whole litter had superb temperaments and Jaffa was a favourite. A fawn sable, brother to Mintie, Arrow, Dart, Eddie, Jube and Jinx from our first litter. Jaffa did well at shows alongside his sister Mintie. Jaffa had lost some weight in the past months and whilst diabetes was suspected he was otherwise healthy and died suddenly for no apparent reason.

Pied Pipers Ebony

A nice Black self girl, Ebony was brought in to help improve our Siamese line. Her siblings include, shaded, chinchillated and hairless mice. Ebony's daughter Mini won Champion mouse at her first show whilst her son, Reserve Ch Mkt Merlin was also a regular placegetter. Ebony passed away at 18 months, always healthy she faded away.

Rocket Kahn

Kahn was born on 3 May, 2007, he was given to Claire as a birthday present from her favourite breeder.  A lovely fawn brindle with a tiny bit of white mismarking and the sweetest temperament, he was added to the Mousery to ensure our Brindles didn't get too washed out. Unfortunately he wasn't used in our breeding program due to him developing a renal problem and he passed away on 27 June, 2008.

Spice

Spice was the prettiest little dove longcoat spotted tan. She was our second mouse and so far, the longest lived female at 2 yrs 1 mth. A mouse with a beautiful temperament and Oreo's best friend. She settled in nicely with the other girls after Oreo's passing. Spice had developed a small tumour but passed away overnight from old age on 1 August, 2008.

Mousekateers Arrow

From our very first litter born on 8 January, 2007. Arrow was the star, we thought she was a snowtiger but sabled over at 5 weeks to be a silver brindle. Such a perfect pet, she was such a gentle affectionate beautiful mouse. Winner of multiple Junior Pet awards including Sydney Royal 2008. Arrow was reluctantly put to sleep following a tumour at 19 months on 4 August, 2008. She'll never be forgotten.

Triple Reserve Ch Mousekateers Allegresse

Our gorgeous Ally, from our first siamese litter born on 3 May, 2007. She was admired by all for her lovely conformation, shading and temperament. Passed quietly away before her time on 10 August, 2008.

Mousekateers Indiana

Gorgeous fawn brindle longcoat, Indiana was from our surprise litter by Mkt Ace and Roc Gem born on 15 June, 2008. Very gentle, he lived with Wonka. Passed away suddenly probably from diabetes, although he wasn't obese he did drink a lot of water but still looked healthy on 24 September, 2008.

Reserve Ch Mousekateers Merlin

Merlin was a gorgeous example of a Siamese. Son of Odie & Ebony born on 4 August, 2007. He sired 2 litters and died suddenly from complications brought on by phemosis just over one month after siring his last litter on 6 December, 2008.

2007

The Wright Rodent Kinky

Kinky came to us in November 2006 with his little brother Chewy, he was a beautiful Snowtiger, he had a kinked tail, hence the name. The best personality, he was descended from Grand Ch MB Fall Out Boy. Kinky was only with us for a couple of months when he was killed in a dog attack along with his little brother, Chewy, whilst we were on holidays in January, 2007. Fortunately, he sired our first litter with Candy and had 9 beautiful babies.

The Wright Rodent Chewy

Adorable little Snowtiger brother of Kinky. He too lost his life along with his brother. Such a beautiful temperament, he was always eating, it was a shame he didn't survive to reach his full potential.

Rodent Haven Guy

Guy was our first male mouse. A bit of a mystery colour. He wasn't the most robust mouse and we didn't breed from him. He came from a feeder breeder and seemed to grow old quickly. He loved having his head rubbed and would fall asleep on your hand.

Rodent Haven Merky

Beautiful black brindle dilute with headspot, it was said that she was a snowtiger. It broke our hearts to lose Merky when she died in labour with a litter to Jet.

Mousekateers Eddie

Eddie was from our first litter and was sold along with his 2 brothers. They came back to us at 5 1/2 months of age. We noticed that Eddie drank and peed excessively more than any of the other mice. We only had him home for 3 weeks when he collapsed and died from what we thought was renal failure. We now believe he had diabetes.

Rocket Dot

We were very excited to get Dot and waited quite a while for her arrival.  The most beautiful, tolerant little Siamese mouse. A great nanny to Candy's litter and wonderful mother to her litter of 3 Siamese girls from Grand Ch MB Fall Out Boy. Dot developed a mammary tumour after weaning her litter at 11 months.

Mousekateers Heavenly Angel

Angel was the runt of Jet and Sicke's 2nd litter. She was so small, we knew she wouldn't survive. She made it to 3 1/2 weeks but unfortunately was squashed by her siblings.

Jet

Jet - the most amazing little mouse. A sweet longcoat chocolate brindle boy. We rescued him from a petshop where he'd been attacked by the other mice. He did well at shows and sired 2 litters to Sicke. He collapsed with breathing difficulties and was put to sleep.

Rodent Haven Star

Star had such a lovely temperament. One of our first mice from a feeder breeder, she was a pretty little cream brindle fox. Little sister to Sicke. Disappointed when we didn't get a litter when bred to Jet. At 14 months she succumbed to 2 tumours. Gentle till the end.

Rodent Haven Shae

Shae was a beautiful longcoat Snowtiger. One of our original feeder breeder group. Unfortunately she was too old to breed from but was a very special and valued pet. She was 18 months old.

Rodent Haven Sicke

Sicke passed away suddenly. One day we found her laying on the floor of her cage. She wasn't distressed or sick, just old, and at 15 months she passed away peacefully. Another cream brindle, with white blaze and collar, Sicke was Star's litter sister. She was so named because when we got her she was so tiny and, it became evident that she was very sick with a respiratory problem. She responded well to antibiotics and has never looked back. Bred to Jet she has produced our first Snowtigers.
